Hi,
 yet again i've have been doing very little.
I did make something - i even used my sewing machine. i wasn't sure if it would behave itself as i've ignored it for a couple of months but she was fine.

Busy doing nothing

Hi all,
 much as the title says i've been busy doing nothing much!
its almost half way through september and i'm just about keeping up with everything but not managing much making :(

i say that but i have done some knitting -

 this pile is destined to be christmas gifts so can't show you anymore of them!

At the weekend we went to the Birmingham University Community Day. I took Tiny last year, and took both of the smaller (only just) ones this year.

In other news, having been back at school for about 2 days, i got the phone call - Tiny has (as you can see) cut her head open!

 Ended up having a trip to the hospital to get her glued togeather (i suggested to her that i could embroider her cut togeather with big flowers but she prefered the nurse doing it!) - she was very brave

 All this means that i haven't had much of a chance to visit In:Site this year - 
Its a crafty/creative thing for recent graduates that they have in Birmingham catheral grounds and have for the past several years. Heres a few quick pics i managed to get - hopeing to get a chance later to go see more.

forgetful

what ho,
 to be honest , at the moment i feel that i'd forget my head even if it was screwed on!
 I went to the festival of quilts not last week but the week before and have told you nothing!!!

well, i didn't take lots of pictures (Fail) but i did do a workshop - can't show you it though as i plan to give a friend of mine the piece that i made for christmas
 i did however do an extra mini workshop on one of the stands - for the life of me i can't remember which but i made this -

A little embroidary - it quite cute (though i say so myself!
This week i have been mostly mending a gasebo cover for a friend so she can use it for her birthday! (my life is so exciting)

Skate dress again

The last couple of skate dresses have been for other people so i decided that it was time to make a new one for Tiny -

Its an A-line skirt, very short but looks good on her -  (pattern )
yes i did make it Tardis blue - makes a nice change from pink!

Knitting

How do,
 I've been doing some knitting in the last couple of weeks. some of it i can't show you - its for presents and i don't want anyone to see if before its presented.
 I've also knitted a boob (well 2  really).
 A friend of mine is going to be a midwife and asked for a knitted boob for helping with showing mums to be breastfeeding.
She gave me a pattern and i made this :

 Well, it gave us all alot of giggles!
I also think you should all see Tinys new hat. I didn't make it (its from M&S) but its so very very cute!

 i need to post some of these ( well 3 of them) - and by post i mean send in the mail as they are presents which i have, as usual, finished long after the birthday of the indended recipient!

Mum is 70

Hi,
 my mum was 70 last week. we had a bit of a party for her.
i had to make the party bags (i do like doing this).
 only 6 kids, 2 girls and 4 boys - 

ok, the pictures the wrong way round but you get the jist!

I'm not dead

Hi,
I'm not dead. Work has been really really busy. We are moving to a new building in the summer and so we have to clear out our labs of 50years worth of rubbish! i seem to spend alot of time in freezers at the moment!
 anyways - i have been making, just not as much as usual. so here are some of them

Sparkly frock and others

How do,
work has been hectic again but i have finally rustled up a few minutes to post some pics of the latest makes.

This is the skate dress I'd been working on - the lady wearing it did the crystaling.
 I'm quite chuffed with how it looks on ice.

and my work chum has had a big birthday (60th) so made her a cake as shes coeliac like me, and got her 2 bottles of bubbly. one is bubbly alcholic the other washing up liquid with its own apron!

3 WEEKS!

Crickey! 
its been 3 weeks since i blogged. i kept meaning too but being too busy.
Ok so - since i blogged last i have done making, been to the sewing show at the NEC and sewed a little bit more - 
so here it all is..........

One of Tinys teachers was leaving to have a baby so with one evening to get it done i produced a gift for tiny to take for her!

Went to the sewing show at the NEC, i got lots of cat fabric for Tiny (what a suprize) and saw a partial (91%) eclipse -

you can see its reflection from the camera projected onto the building - cool!

She was doing bioprospecting - its looking at what bugs grow from different bits of our city and plotting it on a map, an art/science mash up

Its quite interesting trying to take a picture of your own leg!!!

And finally - A skate dress for a friends eldest girl - using the bottom half that i made for a different dress but it was too small, nothing like recycling!

More skating

How Do,

Well i managed a reasonably quick make for me - a skate dress for my friends middle girl.

Late on Friday i couldn't decide if it was OK, 
So i took it skating and gave it to its new owner, little B, who  (as her mother put it) almost wet herself with excitement! - apparently it took some persuading to get it off her later for swimming!!!

Just need to finish one for her big sister now!

Book day

How Do,
I've had conectivity issues this week but i'm back intime to do a post of book day costumes - 

He wanted to be King Arthur - 

So knitted mail,  a tunic and foil covered hockey leg guards created this look!
I knitted the arm bit and my mum did the head one.
Tiny wanted to be puss in boots - again!
Last years (or the year befores i can't remember) outfit had gotten abit small so i chopped the legs off to make a top with tail - i did her a tunic too

Managed to get her tail to stick out from her tunic as well.
